Zinedine Zidane!

Now, if that isn’t insane, ironic and hilarious, I dunno what is.

Zidane élu meilleur joueur du Mondial
Le Français Zinédine Zidane a été désigné meilleur joueur du Mondial 2006 par la Fédération internationale de football (FIFA).

Not saying he doesn’t deserve it. He does!! But it’s still insane! (given yesterday’s redcard). Is FIFA feeling guilty? This is so awesome!

you’re right, cali. all eyes are on zizou more so than anyone else. (whether good or bad. it’s publicity nevertheless.)

it’s funny how the news is saying what a bad example zidane is, but have they totally forgotten about the dirty “performance” of the italian team?

Before the final I would have agreed. But after it, I think the prize should have been awarded to Cannavaro – but seems that FIFA and in general soccer can never award a defender (see what happened with Maldini or Baresi who both deserved the Fifa World Player several years ago).
