thought i would report on my outcome of using as fertilizer.

i gather the nettles up by the buckets here where i live. i originally was wanting to kill it off, but found i could use it to my benefit. ever since i found that i could use as an organic fertilizer, it is all i have been using. i have made buckets of the fertilizer for family and friends.

my brothre has a garden growing in buckets that was doing poorly. i gave hime my leftover mix i had and he noticed improvements in only 4 days that his plants greened up. people in my area are trying to figure out what i have been using on my garden since my plants are larger than others in my area.

i just like that i can use the nettles to my benefit, and it is FREE fertilizer for the garden instead of buying from the store since i never did before.

I'm curious to know if anyone has had an allergy to the nettle tea.
I'd like to try it,but have mixed grass allergies & wonder if it would make them worse.I can't take wheatgrass for that very reason.

thanks for lurking!! that's cool, ang04, that nettles are working for your allergies. i'm drying some right now for the first time so i can have nettles tea during the winter. i've been drinking it lately as a cold tea and my allergies are a lot less severe this year.

Thank you for your post about the mysterious stinging nettle. Mysterious because I never heard of this plant. Hmmmmm...

I've been taking it ever since and it seems to be working for my allergies.

A lurking fan.

ahhh ewj, i wish i lived in your world but i'm too sceptical to think that law was done to protect anything besides the multinational companies.

anyway, i don't think pouring hot water on weeds will be dangerous in any way (except for the weeds!)

Yeah, doesn't that look obvious?... That's the first thing anyone would think. That's why I think it's false, because I don't like conspiracy theories... I know that seek for profit can lead to unwise and dishonest decisions, but I try to contemplate every other possible reason too, as a simple forgetting while doing the law, or maybebecause they didn't want anyone to be able to sell their own strange chemical product and pollute the soil even more, or worse. So they made that. And instead of saying that granny's recipes are allowed, because it was far from easy to define, they preferred to ban everything, and see later if there is any problem, beacause they know (they think^^) they're not stupid...

ewj, if we talked about french laws AFTER we're done talking about the american laws, i don't think we'd EVER get to the french laws in our lifetimes! the u.s. is king in insane laws, i know. in fact, i think that is where these laws in france are coming from. (the american companies that sell fertilizer and insecticides in france don't want citizens to use natural products. they want them to buy the chemical ones.)

But be careful, touching nettle leaves stings!
That's the way most people, especially urban people like me know the nettles, something you shouldn't approach except if you wear a jean or something thick...
And saliva is quite effective against stings...

Maybe we'll talk about french stupid laws when we're done with US stupid laws^^ (just kidding)

And law is not the only thing important, noone would dare making you go on trial because you talked about nettle tea...
People here still have a bit of common sense...
Fortunatly, peolpe (especially judges) don't ask several million dollars for a lost/ found trousers...
