cecilia sarkozyYay Cecilia Sarkozy!

I am beginning to really like her especially after having read that she opted out of lunch yesterday with Dubya and Laura Bush. Apparently, Cecilia was too “ill” to attend AND it turns out that her kids were too “ill” to attend as well. Uh-huh.

If that wasn’t a snub if ever I saw one. Now, who will get the next snub?

Nicolas, perhaps? [via]

I can easily imagine anyone getting sea sick after an afternoon out there with W. But maybe Madame Sarkozy wasn’t turned on by the menu of franks and beans. Where was Dice Shoot-first Aim-later Cheney? Huntin’ varmits?

Tiresome. She was still stuffed full of Gaddafi’s rubbish, leading to the nuclear plant for hostages deal, to manage a lunch with the dim bulb of the States?

Madame Sarkozy made no mystery that she wasn’t interested in a first lady job. She didn’t vote on the second round of the May elections, claimed that she found the perspective of being a president’s wife boring, and snubbed the first ladies at the recent E.U. summit. That she would not be excited about spending an afternoon with Laura, Barbara and the twin tarts is understandable. But are the Bushies worse than Gaddafi, whom she cozied up with less than a month ago? Personally, I find her quite rude and immature. If she wants her independence, let her have it — but then she should disappear from the limelight, and renounce all the job perks she is currently enjoying.

I don’t see a hidden agrenda. She didn’t feel well and thought it best not to attend. It happens all the time.
