And I think that it’s still true that French people can give funky names like “Moon Unit” to their children.
Comment by Elisabeth 08.17.07 @ 7:28 amWhere can this law be found? Seems to be an urban legend.
Comment by gumbo 08.22.07 @ 9:56 amyou think it’s an urban legend? i get the feeling you don’t know france very well!
@ptinfrance: No, but I’ve been trying for quite a while now to find any source for this law. Seems like there’s nothing behind it. If anyone can prove me wrong – you’re welcome.
Comment by gumbo 08.23.07 @ 3:01 amit’s probably inside a dusty, crusty book in some forgotten archives. if i had the time and volition to find it i would, but alas…
note: there are actually weirder laws in france…
Comment by ptinfrance 08.23.07 @ 2:33 pmI bet you wouldn’t find it – as it seems to be non-existant…
Comment by gumbo 08.24.07 @ 2:42 amIt seems to me it’s a fake, even if it’s true, who register pig’s name and control the names?
This law is not even known in France, or may be known in rural aeras.
