There is a movie called animal farm and they named the pig napoleon…that is why you can not name a pig napoleon.

It seems to me it’s a fake, even if it’s true, who register pig’s name and control the names?
This law is not even known in France, or may be known in rural aeras.

it’s probably inside a dusty, crusty book in some forgotten archives. if i had the time and volition to find it i would, but alas…

note: there are actually weirder laws in france…

And I think that it’s still true that French people can give funky names like “Moon Unit” to their children.
