If you shop at Carrefour, you might have noticed a strange sign they’ve put up near the eggs that first says that eggs stay fresh 25 days after they’ve been packed, then says, “we remove eggs 7 days AFTER the expiration date.” This should be an indication that you should NOT buy eggs from them or at least check the date very carefully. They do this so you cannot return rotten eggs and get your money back.

You mean there are stores in France that actually discourage returns, even if the product is defective or bad?
How odd..
Comment by David 09.29.08 @ 6:51 amThere is no way you can take bad rotten eggs once you ate them, you’ll have to seat for a while before you can move normally again…
Comment by Calimero 09.29.08 @ 1:08 pmdavid, i know you are shocked, i say SHOCKED to hear such things about france.

Comment by ptinfrance 09.29.08 @ 1:46 pmWe have also encountered some problems with their product and service quality: http://paivisanteri.blogspot.com/2009/04/carrefour-product-service-safety.html.
Comment by Päivi & Santeri 04.02.09 @ 11:24 amI just left Carrefour Stro-Bever. There were only three cashiers to pay. None of them took cash or Visa. I had to put every item back. It is the nearest store but this too much. No wonder that even the cheap China stuff did not save them.
I have to change the market.
Another thing. They also give postal services. With the normal Belgian letter, same size and weight, the price is different every time.
