I know back when I went to school, we had civic lessons, and I think we even had moral lessons (!) (well, that was before 1968).  &#039;68 modernized what the kids learned in school somewhat.  Nowadays I&#039;m not sure what the kids learn.</description>

		<description>SarKo really needs to chill.  As to the compulsory learning of La Marseillaise, I have some vague recollection of learning part of it in school but never learned the whole thing, so whenever I have to sing it (very rarely) I just fake it, just like I did in school all these years ago.</description>

		<description>I wonder how many French people actually know all the history and significance behind the national anthem. It&#039;s like these knowledge tests that immigrants have to successfully achieve in order to immigrate - a lot of the population would fail those! Does that make them less of a citizen?</description>
