My husband is a regular speaker at Macworld in San Francisco. He knows the organizers very well. They are all flabbergasted that Apple would pull out of such a promotional event they don’t even have to organize themselves. But, as we all know, Jobs is a control freak, and it’s all about control, i.e. he and Apple would rather kill a good show than have someone else manage it. In these challenging economic times, when a company like Apple relies a lot on consumer products, one would think that they would welcome free, high-end promo. No. Call it corporate myopia.

Steve Jobs is probably too sick.
