How refreshing! In politically-correct America where I live, the good-looking Monsieur Mesnil would have been arrested and charged within a block! When I see things like this, I miss the liberty of my douce France...

We had a much reported/blogged about event last Summer on what's supposed to be free-speech Venice Beach (as well as San Francisco, NYC etc.): women protesting for the right to go topless on the beach (normal in Europe, but a big no-no in the U.S.):

Protesters bared their nipples, but because of all the cops around, they had to wear fake nipples to cover their real ones, otherwise they would have been arrested and charged for sexual assault and paedophilia. The irony is, the fake nipples looked even more real, and gross. Talk about puritan hypocrisy.
